In response to a growing global workforce shortage, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) today announced a new training program that helps to accelerate the entry and onboarding of new entrants into the clinical research profession.
ACRP’s Early Talent Training Program™ is a first of its kind, comprehensive curriculum that prepares candidates and lateral movers for the clinical research profession. The 3-week training program allows sites, contract research organizations, academic and health institutions, and sponsors to more quickly onboard those who are new to clinical trials and who have the right skills to succeed in the profession.
“The clinical research industry needs a diverse, research-ready workforce to keep pace with the growth occurring today,” says Susan Landis, ACRP Executive Director. “ACRP recognizes this need and has developed rigorous workforce training to ensure new entrants into our profession are both competent and confident, in line with our mission to promote excellence in clinical research and our vision that clinical research is performed responsibly and professionally everywhere in the world.”
ACRP’s announcement follows publication last week of a new white paper exploring the growing workforce shortage in clinical research, its root causes, and disruptive ways to turn barriers into bridges. It also supports ACRP’s commitment to empowering the workforce to recruit new professionals through its Ready, Set, Clinical Research!™ program, which includes a toolkit for promoting clinical research as an exciting and rewarding profession.
After completing the 3-week curriculum, candidates and employees will be ACRP Research Ready™ and able to: reference and understand the use of appropriate regulations and guidelines governing clinical trials; employ common clinical research terminology as a foundation of knowledge; relate common International Conference on Harmonization guidelines to organizational policies and procedures; and demonstrate core clinical research competencies.
ACRP’s programs are developed to support all stakeholders in clinical research to help recruit, on-board, and retain clinical research professionals. Employers can be confident that ACRP members are top performers who have achieved the highest level of competence in the industry. As a result, they can have greater confidence in knowing that their study is in good hands.
