Supporting Our Mission

In support of our mission to provide global leadership to promote integrity and excellence for the clinical research profession, I am pleased to announce that for the first time in the history of ACRP we are providing our membership and the public at large with complimentary access to two live-video plenary sessions from the ACRP 2011 Global Conference & Exhibition in Seattle, Washington.

Broadcasting live Sunday, May 1, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm (Pacific Daylight) at www.acrpnet.org/GC2011Live is the Regulatory Affairs Public Forum.

ACRP has assembled representatives from global regulatory agencies to address issues facing clinical trials during the Regulatory Affairs Public Forum at this year’s conference. This session will help you understand the considerations supporting current policy and guidelines.

Regulatory Affairs Public Forum participants include:

  • Jerry Menikoff, MD, JD, OHRP
  • Jean Toth-Allen, PhD, FDA Office of Special Medical Programs
  • Moderator: Linda Strause, PhD

Broadcasting live Monday, May 2, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm (Pacific Daylight) at www.acrpnet.org/GC2011Live is Innovation & Global Health, a discussion of innovation’s role in progress toward addressing problems in global health led by Tachi Yamada, MD, President, Global Health Program, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

“There are great disparities in healthcare throughout the world,” Yamada says. “Nearly 8 million children die each year from conditions that could be prevented or treated easily. To address these problems there needs to be political will to address them, commitment of financial resources and, most importantly, innovation.”

Recordings of both plenary sessions will also be available within 24 hours of original broadcast at www.acrpnet.org/GC2011Live.

Providing these sessions to our membership and the public helps to fulfill our vision that clinical research is performed responsibly, ethically, and professionally everywhere in the world.

I hope you and your colleagues will benefit from these sessions, and I look forward to providing you with similar benefits as we continue to advance our mission and realize our vision.
