About the South Africa Chapter

The South African Chapter of ACRP was established in January, 2002. The Chapter's purpose is to represent clinical research professionals of the South African Federation at ACRP and to represent ACRP in the South African Federation.

Appointment of Vice-Chapter Head

Catherine Lund (OnQ Consulting) has been appointed as Vice-Chapter Head. Catherine has been in the clinical research industry for 9 years – 1 year as a study coordinator, CRA at CRO for 3 years, managing director of South African based CRP since 1999. We welcome Catherine to the Chapter!

2nd Annual Clinical Trial Conference: Conducting Clinical Trials in Africa

SACRA, in collaboration with ACRP, will be hosting the 2nd Annual South African Clinical Trial Conference in September 2008. The purpose of this conference is to provide a platform for delegates from all over the world to exchange information and experiences to facilitate the continual development and growth of the clinical trial industry throughout Africa. The focus will be on insights into the challenges facing people from sponsor companies, funding agencies, site staff and regulatory agencies to enable all role players to obtain an overall perception of the drug development process with the ultimate aim of assisting the industry to conduct the highest standard  of clinical research possible.
