About the India Chapters – Pune and Bangalore
ACRP and Bilcare inaugurated the 1st Indian Chapter of ACRP on the 23rd of June 2007 at a joint function in the southwestern Indian city of Pune. Bilcare Research is a Pune-based Pharmaceutical Solutions Company which has international presence. Deeply involved in research and development of pharmaceutical packaging, Bilcare also offers clinical trial supply services.
Their latest venture is in the field of Clinical Trial education, with the opening of the Bilcare Research Academy, http://www.bilcareacademy.com/. The academy offers a one year, full time Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Trial Management to graduates in the field of medicine, science and pharmacy. The entire course has been developed in consultation with ACRP. Once students have successfully completed the course, they will be awarded an ACRP-Bilcare Diploma. This is ACRP’s first chapter in India and will be a gateway for quality clinical research training in the Asian region. In association with ACRP, Bilcare Research Academy plans to impart training to hospitals, clinical research organizations and other intermediaries in clinical research business to enhance understanding and thereby upgrade standards in the region.
Mohan Bhandari, chairman and managing director of Bilcare Research said, “The ACRP-Bilcare academy will bridge the gap of long awaited qualitative manpower requirements and practice across the country and parts of Asia.”
On December 17th, ACRP’s alliance in India, Bilcare Research Academy, opened their 2nd Chapter in India in Bangalore. And on December 19th, the 3rd Chapter in the Southeast Asia region opened in Singapore along with another Bilcare Research Center there. Thomas Adams, CEO & President of ACRP, attended both launches along with the Manager of Development, Sara Kilkenny.
Bilcare Research plans to open 25 academic centers across India and parts of Asia and aims to train at least 5,000 quality clinical research professionals by 2010.
