Canadian Chapter Annual General Meeting
Canadian Chapter Annual General Meeting – Seattle, April 30, 2011
The AGM was held at the Seattle conference. There was a large turn-out, including 23 voting chapter members. Jim Thomasell, CEO, brought greetings from ACRP Global office, and Val Willetts, ABoT Chair spoke on behalf of the Board of Trustees. The Canadian speakers who were present were also introduced to the meeting attendees. Reports were presented on behalf of the Membership and Education Committees, and the Treasurer. The draft meeting minutes may be found on the chapter website.
Elections were held for the positions of President-Elect, Secretary, and Education Committee (Co)Chair. No nominations were received from the floor. The results were as follows:
· President-Elect: no nominations, position remains vacant
· Secretary: April Ingram, by acclamation
· Education Committee (Co) Chairs: April Ingram and Jennifer Ayling, by acclamation
The proposed amendment to the by-laws was passed by the voting members. This is a major change, as elections and other matters requiring full membership voting may now be done electronically. Be sure to watch for emails concerning Chapter voting motions in the future!
Following the business meeting, there was a brief reception where everyone took the opportunity to relax with old and new friends. We extend a very big ‘Thank You’ to Institutional Review Board (IRB) Services, of Aurora Ontario, for their generous sponsorship of this event!
