Data Management & Technology Forum

Data Management & Technology Mission Statement

The scope of our new Data Management and Technology Forum takes into account the entire process for Clinical Trial Document Design and Management, Data Collection, Data Assessment and Data Reporting. We will focus on both the existing paper based legacy systems as well as electronic data platforms. This includes but is not limited to Case Report Forms, Diaries (electronic as well as paper), Pharmacy Logs, Electronic Data Capture, the review/analysis of various platforms available, review of design/operational methods to reduce anomalies/queries, source document control, domestic as well as European practices, data quality/validation, reporting systems, statistical methods, biometrics, training, publications and Technology.

By virtue of its role within the Clinical Trial Process, Data Management has recently increased emphasis on the Technology Component within its Forum scope. Data Management tends to work closely with "the software side/IT." This tends to create a natural affinity/appreciation/understanding between these two groups. One key "cross-over point" is the bridging of software with hardware. This, in our opinion, needs to addressed/rediscovered, developed and emphasized within ACRP. One fundamental example of this is the increasing use of Electronic Patient Diaries within the Clinical Trial Arena.

We Invite You to Present at One of ACRP's Chapter Meetings

The Association of Research Professionals recognizes the fact that our membership is our greatest resource for education. Each of our members is an integral part of the clinical research team. Forum members are unique in that they have designated a special interest that they are particularly interested in/a part of. Therefore, we ask that you be willing to share your expertise and knowledge with others who possibly do not have as much experience, or simply would benefit from learning from your experience. The ACRP Chapters are constantly looking for speakers to come and present on various topics at their Chapter meetings. They also recognize that Forums are one of the greatest resources to find speakers. If you would be willing to present at a Chapter meeting, please fill out the speaker release form, and include the information that it asks for and email, fax or mail to the Chapters and Forums Coordinator, Megan Markowski (fax: (703) 253-8101) or 500 Montgomery Street, Suite 800, Alexandria, VA 22314. Your information will not be shared with anyone who is not a member of ACRP. Thank you for your consideration.
